Diamondback Mini Viper 16 Mini Review

The Viper has consistently been one of our favorite 16-inch bikes under $200!  See how it compares to other 16″ bikes in our Best 16 Inch Kids Bikes article.

The Diamondback Mini Viper is a BMX-style bike that places the rider in an upright position and is one of our top picks for budget 16″ bikes.

Like the other budget bikes, it has only a rear coaster brake and is on the heavier side at 20.8 lbs.  Its more-upright handlebars were not a problem for our experienced pedalers but could be more challenging for a new rider.  The seat height ranges from 20”–24”.

Bottom Line: The Viper is an amazing bike for the price.  Great quality and provides a comfortable upright positioning for beginning riders.  More aggressive riders will likely find the upright handlebars problematic.
