Lightweight with brakes and air tires, but limited seat height adjustments allow little room for growth.
Seat Height: 15" - 16.5"
Weight: 7.25 lb.
Brakes: Hand Brake
Tire Size: 12"
Grips Bumper: Yes
Frame Material: Aluminum Alloy
Recommended – Ages 2.5 and up
The Joovy BicycooBMX is a solid, well-built bike that is as functional as it is stylish. Its BMX stylized front end was a hit amongst both preschool aged boys and girls. The BMX’s front end is unfortunately not adjustable and also includes a turning limiter. Upon riding the bike however, the limiter was not a problem and the solid frame gave way to a ride that was as smooth as the Bicycoo’s style. With large tires, a high-end rear brake and a preschool scaled seat, this solid, well-built bike is the perfect starter bike for ages 3 and up.
The tires on the BicyooBMX are high-quality air tires that ride smoothly along the pavement. They have a smooth tread, as compared to the TykesBykes, but offer much more traction than the Strider.
BMX Steering Limiter in Action
The limiter on the BicycooBMX limits the steering more than typical limiters, but our testers of various ages happily rode the bike without any complaints.
Small Foam Grips Need Improvement
One complaint they did have was the small foam grips. Compared the the rubber grips on other bikes, the Joovy’s leave much to be desired.
Overall, the BicycooBMX is a well-built bike that would make any three year old the envy of the neighborhood.
**UPDATE: Joovy has replaced the seat post on the BicycooBMX and its new seat height measurements are 15″ – 16.25″. **
