The yBikes are the perfect example of how a good idea can withstand even the worst execution. Both of their bikes get great reviews, but upon reading the reviews it is clear that the reviews are based on the idea of a balance bike, not based on the bike itself. Sure even a poorly constructed balance bike will be loved by kids and will help them learn to balance a regular bike, but for $89 it is sad to think that parents don’t even get the option to adjust the seat height on the bike, which is essential for getting the most out of a bike. From the complete lack of adjustability, to the extra-wide, hard plastic tires, there’s not much to like about the yBikes.
